Karachi February 16 2023: As per the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the government’s domestic and external debt stood at PKR 33,116 billion as of Dec 2022 compared to PKR 32,930 billion as of Nov 2022.
Pakistan’s Debt to GDP ratio stands at 68 percent as of Dec 2022.
The external debt of the country has increased by 20.8 percent YoY to PKR 17,880 billion as of Dec 2022.
Also, the outstanding position of Naya Pakistan Certificates has decreased to USD 658 million as of December 2022.
As per the AHL Research, The country witnessed a net outflow of USD 765 million through Naya Pakistan Certificates during 2QFY23.
The country witnessed a net outflow of USD 470 million from April 2022 to December 2022, the brokerage house mentioned in the report.
The central Govt. domestic debt also increased by 23.8 percent YoY to PKR 33,116 billion.
