Karachi August 15 2022: As per the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the government’s domestic and external debt stood at PKR 47,783 billion as of June 2022 compared to PKR 44,638 billion as of May 2022.
Pakistan’s Debt to GDP ratio has increased to 71.37 percent (PKR 447,783 billion) as of June 2022 compared to 69.37 percent (PKR 38,704 billion) as of June 2021.
The external debt of the country has increased by 34.6 percent YoY to PKR 16,747 billion as of June 2022. While in percent of GDP external debt has increased to 25.01 percent as of June 2022 compared to 22.29 percent as of June 2021.
The central Govt. domestic debt also increased by 18.2 percent YoY to PKR 31,036 billion. In percent of GDP, domestic debt also increased to 46.36 percent compared to 47.07 percent back in June 2021.
