Karachi May 25 2023: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) foreign exchange reserves for the week ending May 19, 2023, were down by USD 119 million to USD 4,193 million as per data released by the Central Bank.
SBP reserves decrease due to external debt repayment, according to Central Bank statement.
At present, SBP reserves stand at the level of USD 4,193 million as of 19th May 2023 compared to USD 4,312 million at the end of the week ending 12th May 2023.
During the same period, foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks decreased by USD 88 million to the level of USD 5,538 million as of 19th May 2023.
Overall reserves held by the country witnessed a decrease of USD 206 million to USD 9,731 million during the week ending 19th May 2023.
