Karachi July 14 2022: As per the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, total deposits of scheduled banks increased by 15 percent YoY to PKR 22,810 billion as of June 2022 compared to PKR 19,796 billion as of June 2021.
On MoM basis deposits witnessed an increase of 7.8 percent due to fiscal year ending phenomenon.
Total advances of scheduled banks also increased by 21.0 percent to PKR 10,886 billion as of June 2022 compared with PKR 8,996 billion as of June 2021.
On MoM basis advances witnessed an increase of 0.6 percent.
Investments of scheduled banks also jumped up by 26.8 percent YoY to PKR 17,419 billion as of June 2022.
Advance to deposits ratio (ADR) stood at 47.7 percent in June 2022 which is 228 basis points higher than the ADR of June 2021, which was 45.4 percent.
The investment to deposits ratio (IDR) stood at 76.4 percent in June 2022 which is also 695 basis points higher than the IDR of June 2021, which was 69.4 percent.
