Islamabad August 19 2022: Government of Pakistan has appointed Jamel Ahmed as new Governor State Bank just one day before MPC meeting, according to the notification issued today by Ministry of Finance.
He has been appointed for a period of five years.
Jameel Ahmed has previously served as the Deputy Governor of the State Bank while he has also held an important position in the Saudi Central Bank.
Jameel Ahmed has been associated with State Bank since 1991 and has also held the position of Executive Director.
The Monetary Policy Committee of SBP will meet on Monday, August 22, 2022 at SBP Karachi to decide about the Monetary Policy. Later on, SBP will issue the Monetary Policy Statement through a press release on the same day
