Karachi June 22 2021: Pak rupee losses 68 paisa or 0.4 percent against US dollar on Tuesday and closed at 158.19 against Monday’s closing of PKR 157.51.
PKR closed at lowest level since February 26, 2021. The currency has weakened against US dollar due to rising import bill. Imports during first 11 months of current fiscal year has increased by 22.5 percent to USD 50.05 billion. During the month of June 2021, Pak rupee has lost 3.86 or 2.4 percent.
Current account balance is expected to turns in to negative for 11 months of current fiscal year. However, during first 10 months’ of current fiscal year current account balance is USD 773 million
During June 2021, PKR has depreciated against EURO by 0.3 percent or 47 paisa.
