Karachi August 25, 2021: Pak rupee losses 1.08 rupees or 0.65 percent against US dollar on Wednesday and closed at 166.28 against Tuesday’s closing of PKR 165.20.
PKR closed at lowest level since September 21, 2020. The currency has weakened against US dollar due to rising pressure on external account. During last three months’ (May 2021 to July 2021) country has posted current account deficit of US dollar 3,042 million compared with a surplus of US dollar 791 million during same period of last year.
