Islamabad June 27 2024: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan has resigned from his party post.
In a statement released on the social media website X, he said, “I am extremely grateful to Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, that he accepted my resignation as the Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf so that now I can focus on my role as the opposition leader as the member of National Assembly.”
He further said in his statement that ‘I sent my resignation on 22 June 2024 to PTI founder Imran Khan and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. However, today the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Senator Shibli Faraz conveyed my message to Imran Khan during the meeting in Adiala Jail.
In his statement on X, former Secretary General PTI Umar Ayub Khan said that in the coming days, more changes will be made in the organizational structure of PTI as per the instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan. I would like to thank all the PTI members, parliamentarians and office bearers of the organization who worked tirelessly for Imran Khan and PTI and bravely faced immense odds.
