Karachi August 24 2022: Federal Minister of Energy Khurram Dastgir has said that the reason for the high fuel surcharge in the July bill was the high consumption of electricity due to the heat in June.
During the press conference in Karachi, the Federal Minister said that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, fuel adjustment charges have been abolished on the consumers who use 200 units, which will benefit 17 million consumers and gave a relief of 22 billion in this regard.
The Federal Minister of Energy said that the fixed tax on traders has also been abolished and now the tax will be collected through the old method.
Khurram Dastgir said that Nepra is working on restructuring and if the tariff is announced on time, consumers will not have to face such additional charges.
