Lahore December 23 2022: The larger bench formed by the Lahore High Court to hear the petition filed against the removal of Chief Minister Punjab Pervez Elahi by the Governor of Punjab has been dissolved.
Bench member Justice Farooq Haider has excused himself from hearing Parvez Elahi’s request.
The head of the bench, Justice Abid Aziz Shaikh, says that Justice Farooq Haider has been the lawyer of the petitioner.
Justice Abid Aziz Shaikh said that we are sending the file of the case to the Chief Justice for the new bench. The larger bench of the Lahore High Court sent the file of the case to the Chief Justice Ameer Bhatti.
On this occasion, lawyer Pervaiz Elahi said that “We request that the case be scheduled for hearing today.”
On which Justice Abid Aziz Shaikh said that ‘we are also sending this request of yours to the Chief Justice.’
