Karachi January 11, 2021: TRG Board just announced wining candidates of board of directors election results and named that Mr Khaldoon Bin Latif, Mr Farrukh Imdad, Mr Hasnain Aslam, Mr Waleed Tariq Saigol, Mr John Leone, Mr Patrick McGinnis, Mr Zafar Iqbal Sobani, Mr Abid Hussain, Mr Asad Nasir and Mr Suleman Lalani are appointed as directors for new term.

Mr. Hasnain Aslam: Hasnain Aslam is a Director as well as the Chief Executive Officer of TRG Pakistan Limited. He is also a Founding Partner and the Chief Investment Officer at The Resource Group (TRG). He has spearheaded TRG’s growth through over 25 acquisitions and divestitures since its inception in 2002. He serves on the boards of several TRG companies, including Afiniti, where has been a Board member since inception. Prior to TRG, Hasnain managed Corporate Development at Align Technology and was an investment banker at JP Morgan in New York and San Francisco, where he managed over $100 billion in transactions in mergers & acquisitions as well as Corporate Finance. Hasnain also served as Chairman of the Board of OPEN, Washington D.C. from 2015 through 2020, and is a board member of the D.C. Chapter of The Citizens Foundation USA (TCF), where he has helped raise over $20 million for TCF. Hasnain has an A.B. with Honors from Harvard University, and his diverse interests include automobile racing, sports, travel, and Urdu poetry.

Mr. John Leone: John is the Managing Director of ForeVest Capital Partners, LLC, an advisor to an investor in TRGI. John works on sourcing, negotiating and executing private equity transactions in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to this role, John was General Counsel of PineBridge Investments’ Emerging Markets Private Equity operations. Earlier in his career, John was an attorney at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where he focused on advising private equity clients. John earned a Juris Doctor, with High Honors, from The George Washington University Law School where he was a member of the Law Review, and a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
Mr. Patrick McGinnis: Patrick is the Managing Partner at Dirigo Advisors, a private equity advisory business focused on emerging markets. Earlier, Patrick was a Vice President at Pinebridge Capital (formerly AIG Capital Partners) where he led his firm’s investment in TRG. Patrick started his career in investment banking at JP Morgan where he was an Associate. Patrick received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from Georgetown University.

Mr. Asad Nasir: Asad Nasir is currently serving as Group Head, Ecosystem Development and Sustainable Finance at JS Bank. He has over 20 years of diversified financial services experience including Private Equity, Corporate Finance Advisory, Capital Market Advisory, Transaction Services and Audit. Prior to his current role, Asad has served as the Chief Investment Officer for JS Private Equity and the Pakistan Catalyst fund, a USD 50 million private equity fund which included USAID in its investors. Before that Asad was Head, Corporate Finance at JS Global Capital, a leading Pakistani securities brokerage and investment banking firm. At JS Global, Asad advised some of Pakistan’s leading companies on fundraising, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings. Asad commenced his professional career with Deloitte UK, working as part of the audit & assurance and corporate finance teams. He is an FCA with the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales and holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Hull.

Mr. Zafar Iqbal Sobani: Zafar Iqbal Sobani brings with him over forty years of experience of the audit profession and manufacturing & power sectors of Pakistan and the Middle East. Currently he is engaged in finance, business and power sector consultancy in addition to be an entrepreneur. He is serving as a Board Member of Privatization Commission of Pakistan since January 2014 and has actively contributed in the Privatization transactions carried out during this period which included spade work on PSE and Energy sector. In addition, he is on the Board of TRG (Pakistan) Limited, Primus Leasing Limited (a subsidiary of Brunei Investment Company Limited), IT Minds (a subsidiary of Central Depository Company) , AGP Pakistan Limited, Zephyr Power Ltd , IPP based Wind Power project and Hardon Solar (a developer of Solar solutions). He has also been inducted as a Board Member of KWSB in last quarter of 2021 as World Bank recommended restructuring of the Board He obtained qualification of Chartered Accountancy and Cost & Management Accountancy in the early eighties from Pakistan. After four years he moved to Century Paper & Board Mills Limited (CPBM), part of the Lakson Group of Companies, where he spent a major part of his career. In his eighteen years tenure at CPBM he was engaged in the areas of finance, new projects, treasury, costing and supply chain. Additionally, he was responsible for overall coordination of group finance affairs. After ending his affiliation with CPBM, he turned his focus towards power sector and joined in 2008 Liberty Power Tech, a 200MW IPP Based project, as CEO for 3 years. Continuing his journey in the power sector he joined as CEO of HUBCO in 2011, overlooking all three of its IPP based power projects of around 1500 MW. His final assignment in the corporate sector came at House of Habib in 2013 where he was involved in new project development and real estate development for two years He has been the President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and served actively in council and regional committee in various capacities between 1993 and 2005. He also remained Chairman of Quality Control Board for nine years from 2006 and was entrusted with the objective of overseeing the quality of audit assurance work in Pakistan. He remained Chairman of Audit Committee of ICAP. He also remained Member of the managing committees of Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was the Sponsor Director of Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance in year 2004 and 2005 and has Certification as a trainer of Corporate Governance by IFC. Mr. Farrukh Imdad: Farrukh Imdad is Group Head, Hamdard Pakistan, a group active in fields of Health, Education and Philanthropy. Farrukh Imdad joined Hamdard Group in 2008 and is currently working as Director General, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, a Philanthropic arm of the group. He also serves as Dean of Hamdard University, one of the largest private sector universities in Pakistan and as Chief Investment Officer of Hamdard Laboratories Waqf Pakistan, the largest herbal manufacturers in Pakistan, which also exports its products to over 50 countries globally. Prior to joining Hamdard, he worked for eight years in the United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates in Banking and Telecom Sector. Farrukh has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Bahria University, Karachi.
Mr. Suleman Lalani: Mr. Suleman Lalani joined Jahangir Siddiqui & Co. Limited (“JSCL”) on March 1, 2012 as Chief Executive Officer.
