Islamabad August 2 2021: The headline inflation measured by CPI (National) slowed down to 8.4 percent compared to 9.7 percent of previous month (June, 2021) and 9.3 percent of the corresponding month of last year (July 2020).

The Urban CPI has also been contained at 8.7 percent compared to 9.7 percent of previous month. However, last year in July, the Urban CPI was recorded at 7.8 percent, whereas Rural CPI registered at 8.0 percent compared to 9.7 percent of previous month and 11.6 percent of the corresponding month of last year. The Urban Food inflation slowed down to 9.4 percent compared to 11.0 percent of the previous month and 15.1 percent of the corresponding month of last year as well. The rural Food inflation has also been anchored at 7.3 percent versus 9.8 percent of previous month and 17.8 percent of the corresponding month of last year. The non-food inflation in July also slowed down to 8.2 percent compared to 8.9 percent of previous month in urban and nonfood of rural slowed down to 8.7 percent as compared to 9.7 percent of previous month.
