Islamabad December 12 2021: Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan Adam Tugio says a number of Indonesian companies are keen to invest in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) being established under the umbrella of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
Expressing his views during an exclusive interview with News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan, he said CPEC projects will emerge as a game changer for entire region through connectivity up to Central Asia and Western China.
The Ambassador said Pakistan has a huge potential to increase its exports to Indonesia particularly textile, garments, leather products, surgical instruments and fruits.
He said there is a need to enhance political and economic relations between the two countries at all level to increase current trade volume of over two point five six billion dollars.
He also stressed for diversifying the trade and government to government relations for the benefit to both countries.
On issues being faced by the Muslim Ummah, the Indonesian envoy was of the view that all Muslim countries must strengthen their mutual economic and cultural relations besides political engagement to increase pressure for the solution of long-standing issues.
On Afghanistan issue, he said global community should help the interim government in provision of basic needs to over 23 million Afghan people to avert the humanitarian crisis which is brewing at a fast pace.
On Kashmir dispute, the Indonesian Ambassador said OIC is playing a significant role for this issue and all Muslim countries express solidarity with Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right to self-determination.
He said the issue of Palestine and Kashmir are un-finished business of colonial era and world should pay heed to these issues for long-lasting peace and stability in the region.
