Peshawar August 28 2023: The Election Commission has released preliminary outcomes of the local government by-elections, which were held to fill vacant seats across 21 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the provided information, independent candidates have secured victory in 40 out of the 72 vacant seats in the municipal by-elections.
As per the official announcement from the Election Commission, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has emerged victorious in 14 seats, while JUI has managed to secure 6 seats. The preliminary results indicate that Awami National Party has attained success in four seats, People’s Party has secured two seats, and Tehreek-e-Labaik has clinched one seat.
The by-elections took place in 65 village and neighborhood councils within the 21 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the preceding Sunday.
