Washington DC December 4 2023: As part of the Fund’s increased transparency, the tentative calendar of the formal meetings and seminars of the Executive Board for the next seven days is released.
Pakistan has not been included in these board meetings of IMF so far for the month of December. On 7th December, IMF Board will undertake interim Review of Access Limits Under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Trust and Initial Considerations for Access Limits Under the General Resources Account.
“Met with Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar kakar at COP28. We discussed commendable progress made by the government to maintain economic stability and timely implementation of planned reforms” says IMF MD Kristalina Georgieva.
On 15th November, IMF staff and the Pakistani authorities have reached a staff-level agreement on the first review under Pakistan’s Stand-By Arrangement (SBA), subject to approval by the IMF’s Executive Board. Upon approval, Pakistan will have access to SDR 528 million (around US$700 million).
Executive Board to take Sri lanka and Bangladesh reviews on December 12th. For Sri Lanka First Review of the Extended Arrangement Under the Extended Fund Facility, Request for Waiver of Nonobservance of Performance Criterion, Request for Modification of Performance Criteria, Financing Assurances Review, and Rephasing of Access will be the agenda. Bangladesh First Review Under the Extended Credit Facility, Extended Fund Facility, and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility Arrangements will also be part of Agenda on 12th December.
On June 29, 2023, IMF Executive Board will discuss Cameroon Fourth Reviews Under the Extended Credit Facility and Extended Fund Facility.
On July 5th, 2023, Niger – Third ECF Review and a request for an arrangement under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility and Kingdom of Bahrain – 2023 Article IV Consultation is on IMF agenda.
IMF board to take up Somalia First Review Under the Extended Credit Facility, Extended Fund Facility, and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility on December 13th, 2023. Congo, Benin and Rawanda related agenda will be taken by IMF Board on December 14th 2023.
