Islamabad July 24 2024: Finance Minister Mohammad Aurnagzeb stated that the IMF Executive Board is expected to approve the staff-level agreement by the end of August.
In an interview with Geo News, Mohammad Aurangzeb mentioned that negotiations with the IMF regarding the external financing gap are ongoing, but these discussions will not obstruct the approval of the staff-level agreement.
The Finance Minister also noted China’s support in various forums and announced his intention to meet with the Chinese Finance Minister to express his gratitude.
Additionally, Mohammad Aurangzeb reported that Energy Minister Owais Leghari will depart for China tonight to discuss energy sector reforms with Chinese officials.
