Islamabad May 2 2023: After the third session of talks between the government and Tehreek-e-Insaf regarding elections, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a senior leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf, along with other leaders of his party, said to the media that the negotiations regarding the dissolution of assemblies and the date of elections in the country have not been successful.
According to him, we have reached a conclusion in these negotiations that the assemblies of Qaumi, Sindh and Balochistan should be dissolved before May 14 and then elections should be held simultaneously in the country within 60 days.
In the negotiations, it was also revealed that after the constitutional period of 90 days, a constitutional amendment should be introduced for a time for the elections and for this Tehreek-e-Insaf should go back to the National Assembly.
According to Shah Mehmood Qureshi, he also suggested that the agreement should be in writing so that it can be placed before the Supreme Court and then approved.
According to Shah Mehmood Qureshi, we have shown considerable flexibility in these negotiations.
According to him, she will now present the details of the failure of negotiations before the Supreme Court and will request the court to hold elections in Punjab on May 14 and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as soon as possible.
