Karachi August 24 2022: Foreign direct investment (FDI) during July 2022 witnessed a net inflow of USD 59 million, compared to a net inflow of USD 271 million during June 2022, State Bank of Pakistan revealed today.
During July 2022, net FDI decreased by 78 percent month on month to USD 59 million.
During July 2022, net inflow from UAE was witnessed at USD 12.6 million followed by USD 11.5 million from Switzerland.
UAE’s share in FDI remained the highest among investors with a share of 21 percent during July 2022 and value of USD 12.6 million compared with USD 3.0 million during the same period last year. Net inflow from Switzerland remained at USD 11.5 million during July 2022 compared with USD 11.1 million during same period last year.
During July 2022, a major outflow was witnessed from the USA of USD 12.1 million. A net outflow of USD 1.2 million was also witnessed from Japan during July 2022 followed by USD 0.5 million from Australia and USD 0.2 million from Poland.
During July 2022, net inflow in the power sector remained at USD 30.6 million followed by Financial Business Sector (USD 27.7 million) and the Communications Sector (USD 10.6 million).
