Islamabad January 12 2022: The Cabinet approved Tariff rationalization for Power Sector through Quarterly adjustment for 4th Quarter of FY 2020-21.
This adjustment will provide relief to domestic Consumers of Electricity.

Federal Cabinet Approved Residential Project Attracting USD 2 Billion Investment In Islamabad
This will provide relief of Rs. 0.9908 per unit for the next three months as the Authority has determined a negative uniform rate of Rs.0.9908/kWh. The total impact that will be allowed is an amount of quarterly adjustments of Rs.22,479 million pertaining to the 4th quarter of the FY 2020-21, across each category of consumers of XWDISCOs (except lifeline and protected category consumers), based on notified projected sales, after excluding therefrom the sales to life line and protected category consumers, to be recovered in three (03) months period, w.e.f. 01.02.2022.
The Cabinet expressed condolences for the loss of lives in Murree and offered Fateha. Minister for Interior informed the Cabinet in detail about situation in Murree.
It was decided that a detailed inquiry be conducted to strategize administrative re-organization of Murree administration and to control rush of Tourists.
In view of exponential rise in COVID-19 cases, the Cabinet appealed to the general Public for insuring use of face masks, maintaining social distancing and completion of Vaccination.
The Cabinet instructed Attorney General of Pakistan to vigorously pursue cases against Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore High Court.
The Cabinet was informed that Ministry of Science and Technology will provide Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) to Election Commission of Pakistan for conducting Local bodies’ Election in Islamabad to ensure transparency.
The Cabinet approved appointment of Chairman and Members of Copyright Board of Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan. Mr. Asif Rasheed has been appointed as Chairman and two Members from Punjab and one each from other Provinces.
The Cabinet accorded Ex-post facto approval for acceptance of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia award “ NOOT-UL-TAMREEN” medals by 100 personnel of Pakistan Air Force.
The Cabinet approved registration of existing Credit Guarantee Trust Fund under ICT Trust Act, 2020 and approved SECP as regulator of the Fund. This approval has been granted to fulfill requirements of Anti Money Laundering Act, 2010.
The Cabinet approved appointment of Dr. Liaqat Masih Qaiser as Minority Member on National Commission for Minorities.
The Cabinet approved appointment of Mr. Azam Jamil as Chairman PTDC and National Tourism Coordination Board. The Cabinet ratified decisions taken by Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms in its meeting held on 22nd December, 2021 wherein it was decided that Ministry of Science and Technology will retain National Institute of Electronics. The Cabinet ratified decisions taken by Cabinet Committee on Privatization in its meeting held on 31st December, 2021. CCOP decisions :- (i) Revision of Captail Structure-Debt Recapitalization and Refinancing/Replacement of GoP Excess Equity and PDFL Loan through Commercial Borrowing of NPPMCL. (ii) Divestment of GoP’s Shares in Mari Petroleum Co. Ltd. (MPCL). (iii) Privatization of Guddu Power Plant and Nandipur Power Plant. The Cabinet ratified decisions taken by Economic Coordination Committee in its meetings held on 31st December, 2021 and 5th January, 2022. ECC decisions:- (i) Finalization of Business Plan by NHA by June 2022. (ii) Sambrial Kharian Motorway Project (SKMP). (iii) Allocation of Budget to the Newly Established Secretariat of the Council of Common Interests (CCI). (iv) Gas Rate for Operation of Fatima Fertilizer (Sheikpura Plant) and Agritech. (v) Provision of Life Saving Drugs worth Rs. 500 million to Afghan People. (vi) Provision of Funds for Purchase of Equipment in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences-Federal Medical Teaching Institutes, 2021. (vii) 1.2 MGD Reverse Osmosis Desalination (ROD) Plant at Gwadar (Chinese Grant). (viii) Release of Rs. 100 Billion to manage liquidity requirements of Power Sector.
