Good thing is that we had successfully disconnected 1,000 MW electricity to Karachi which protected network of K Electric from full shut down. We are making all out efforts to restore electricity to Karachi at the moment.”
“Power plants are also start coming online but this will take time to operate at full capacity due to their own technical constraints, right now 8,000 MW is out of system as Nuclear and coal based power plants including that of Thar went offline.” Minister added
In morning, due to an accidental fault in the country’s southern transmission system, several southern power plants are tripping in phases, which is disrupting the transmission of electricity in the southern part of the country, according to the information shared by the Ministry of Energy.
“The Ministry of Energy is diligently investigating the cause of the fault and the power system will be fully restored as soon as possible.” says ministry in a note.
