Lahore July 1 2022: The Supreme Court has completed the hearing on the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab and now the election will be held on July 22, reported by BBC.
According to BBC, after the Speaker Punjab Assembly and senior PML-Q leader Pervez Elahi, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has also conditionally agreed that Hamza Shahbaz will remain the Chief Minister till the new Chief Minister is elected.
The court will issue a written order later.
After this development, senior PTI leader Asad Umar while talking to media said that Hamza Shahbaz has never been elected Chief Minister. According to him, Hamza will sit on the chair but he will not be allowed to use government machinery illegally.
Former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that Hamza Shahbaz would continue to work with limited powers. According to him, Pervez Elahi had agreed, so we have agreed to it. According to him, the PTI’s statement as a whole has won.
Responding to questions from journalists, PTI lawyer Babar Awan said that he was looking for a new title for Hamza Shahbaz but according to him, Hamza Shahbaz would continue to work as an unconstitutional dubious chief minister.
