Islamabad July 23 2024: Based on information from the Central Power Purchasing Agency Guarantee Limited (CPPA-G), NEPRA is poised to raise electricity rates by PKR 2.1054 per unit for June 2024 due to the high fuel cost adjustment (FCA).
As per CPPA’s data, the actual fuel charges for EX-WAPDA DISCOs in June 2024 amounted to PKR 9.2457 per unit including previous adjustments of PKR 0.4888 per unit, marking a PKR 2.1054 per unit increase from the reference tariff.
Nevertheless, NEPRA has established a reference fuel price of PKR 7.1403 per unit for EX-WAPDA DISCOs for June 2024, following CPPA-G’s proposal.
The final decision by NEPRA is expected on July 31st, after considering input from all stakeholders.
