Islamabad September 19 2024: Based on information from the Central Power Purchasing Agency Guarantee Limited (CPPA-G), NEPRA is poised to cut electricity rates by PKR 0.5755 per unit for August 2024 due to the lower fuel cost adjustment (FCA).
As per CPPA’s data, the actual fuel charges for EX-WAPDA DISCOs in August 2024 amounted to PKR 8.8122 per unit including previous adjustments of PKR 1.1867 per unit, resulting in a PKR 0.5755 per unit decrease from the reference tariff.
Nevertheless, NEPRA has established a reference fuel price of PKR 9.3877 per unit for EX-WAPDA DISCOs for August 2024, following CPPA-G’s proposal.
The final decision by NEPRA is expected on September 26th, after considering input from all stakeholders.
