Lahore July 22 2022: The Punjab Assembly meeting for the election of Chief Minister of Punjab finally started after a delay of about three and a half hours, after which the voting took place according to which PTI got 186 votes while Muslim League-N got 179 votes.
After the voting process was completed, Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari read out the letter of Q-League chief Chaudhry Shujaat, in which he instructed the Q-League members not to vote.
The Deputy Speaker said that according to the decision of the Supreme Court, all 10 votes cast by Q-League are rejected.
The session of Punjab Assembly is going on under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari. Dost Muhammad Mazari told the House that according to the decision of the Supreme Court, Hamza Shehbaz had 197 votes in the election held on April 16, out of which, after 25 votes are cast, his number of votes is 172, which is 186 votes. It is less so now they don’t have majority.
