Karachi November 15 2024: Pakistan’s DAP offtake was 309 thousand tonnes which increased by 92.2 per cent over October 2023, according to data released by NATIONAL FERTILIZER DEVELOPMENT CENTRE.
Increase in DAP offtake during October 2024 may be attributed to disbursement of interest free loan to small farmers by the Punjab Government through Kissan Card for purchase of Agri. Inputs.
While, Urea offtake was 358 thousand tonnes which decreased by 21.9 percent.
Total nutrient offtake during October 2024 was 422 thousand tonnes, which increased by 20.3 per cent over October 2023. Nitrogen offtake decreased by 4.1 per cent, while phosphate and potash offtake increased by 91.1 and 82.6 per cent, respectively.
Total domestic fertilizer production during October 2024 was 814 thousand tonnes. Urea and DAP production was 590 and 77 thousand tonnes, respectively. Production of other products i.e., NP, CAN, SSP, SOP and NPK was 70, 67, 7.1, 3.1 and 0.3 thousand tonnes, respectively. Total imported supplies were 159 thousand tonnes comprising 156, 2 and 0.5 thousand tonnes of DAP, SOP and MOP, respectively.
