Islamabad March 15 2022: As per the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan Transport imports witnessed a decrease of 8 percent month on month during February 2022.
It is a third consecutive monthly decline due to the recent tax hikes imposed on auto imports under Finance Bill 2021. It is lowest monthly imports since May 2021.
Imports of Road Motor Vehicle (CKS/SKD) declined by 12 percent MoM to USD 274 million. During 8MFY22, imports of Road Motor Vehicle (CKS/SKD) increased by 86 percent to USD 2,458 million.
Completely built unit (CBU) imports down by 15 percent MoM to USD 46 million for 8MFY22 it is up by 96 percent to USD 409 million.
CKD imports down by 16 percent MoM to USD 177 million while up by 97 percent to USD 1,610 million.
Imports of Aircrafts, Ships and Boats increased by 144 percent MoM to USD 26 million during February 2022, also up by 29 percent during 8MFY22.
