Islamabad February 16 2022: As per the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan Transport imports witnessed a decrease of 18 percent MoM during January 2022. It is connective MoM decline due to the recent tax hikes imposed on auto imports under Finance Bill 2021.
Imports of Road Motor Vehicle (CKS/SKD) declined by 3 percent MoM to USD 313 million. During 7MFY22, imports of Road Motor Vehicle (CKS/SKD) increased by 101 percent to USD 2,184 million.
Completely built unit (CBU) imports up by 20 percent MoM to USD 51 million for 7MFY22 it is also up by 102 percent to USD 360 million.
CKD imports down by 7 percent to USD 202 million while up by 114 percent to USD 1,423 million.
Imports of Aircrafts, Ships and Boats declined by 86 percent MoM to USD 11 million during January 2022, while up by 41 percent during 7MFY22.
