Karachi June 3 2022: Careem has suspended its food services in Pakistan effective from today.
In a statement company writes, “We’ve made the difficult decision to suspend our Food service in Pakistan as of tomorrow, June 3rd”
The statement added, “We see a great opportunity in this market, however with the current stage of the Food Delivery ecosystem in Pakistan, we foresee a long path ahead to achieving sustainability and meaningful scale, and it is critical that we accelerate our path to profitability in Food.”
Careem claimed that they have done their best to match Pakistan Food team colleagues with internal mobility opportunities. Unfortunately, not all colleagues will be matched; they will ensure kind and caring exits for impacted colleagues.
Centralized teams serving other verticals or markets will continue to do so while customers, partners, and captains will be informed later.
