Lahore January 14 2023: Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Fawad Chaudhry says that if the governor does not issue the declaration of dissolution of the assembly, then the assembly will be dissolved at around ten o’clock at night.
He said in a tweet on Saturday morning that “PDM should contest the elections instead of hiding and running away from the people, dissolve the rest of the assemblies and let the people decide.” Delaying the elections is not in the interest of Pakistan.
It should be noted that constitutionally the Governor of Punjab has two days in which he has to implement the summary of the Chief Minister, but if he does not do so within this time, the assembly will be considered dissolved.
With the dissolution of the assembly, the process will begin for the formation of a caretaker government in the province, which will conduct the upcoming elections in Punjab.
According to the constitution, if an assembly is dissolved before completing its term, the Election Commission of Pakistan is bound to hold elections in that province within 90 days.
