Lahore May 8 2023: The Federal Ministry of Interior has approved the deployment of army in the province in view of the law and order situation in Punjab.
According to the notification issued on Wednesday, the provincial government and military authorities will consult on the number of military personnel and resources. While the duration of this appointment will be decided by both stakeholders.
Earlier, the Punjab government had decided to call the army in view of the security situation in the province and called the army to improve the law and order situation.
The Punjab Home Department sent a summary to the Federation to call up 10 companies of the army under Article 245 and the aim was to assist the district administration.
According to reports, after the approval of the deployment of the army, it will be deployed in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and other districts.
