ISLAMABAD October 15 2021: The Large Scale Manufacturing (LSMI) index witnessed a growth of 12.74 percent in the month of August 2021, data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showed on Friday.

Automobiles sector witnessed highest growth of 68 percent during August, 2021 and it has 4.6 percent weight in index.
During August 2021, out of 12.74 percent, 11.34 percent growth is driven by five sectors, i-e
i) Automobiles, ii) Non Metallic Mineral Products, iii) Pharmaceuticals, iv) Food, Beverages & Tobacco and v) Paper & Board
During first two months of current fiscal year, LSMI index witnessed a growth of 7.26 percent.
The production in 2MFY22 as compared to 2MFY21 has increased in Textile, Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Pharmaceuticals, Non Metallic Mineral Products, Automobiles, Iron & Steel Products and Paper & Paperboard while it decreased in Fertilizers, Electronics, Rubber Products and Wood Products.
