Karachi July 25 2024: Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police Salman Chaudhary on Wednesday said that no relaxations would be allowed on overloading as overloading not only destroyed National Highways and vehicles but also caused severe damage to the country’s economy.
He said this while talking to delegations of the Karachi Goods Carrier Association (KGCA) and Pakistan Transport Council (PTC) here at his office.
Salman said that overloading is a national problem and it was our collective responsibility to make efforts to control overburdening violations to save the economy from irreparable losses.
The delegations requested IG NHMP to increase the efficiency of the weigh stations on the national highways.
The IG assured the delegation that the National Highway Authority and FWO would make efforts to resolve the grievances of the transporters.
DIG (Operations) Saad Akhtar Bharwana, AIG (Operations) Shah Asad, President of Karachi Goods Carrier Association Rana Muhammad Aslam and the President of Pakistan Transport Council Tanveer Ahmed Jutt were also present.
