Islamabad January 30 2024: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi have been sentenced to ten years in prison in the cipher case.
On Tuesday, Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Special Court set up under the Secret Act gave a short verdict after hearing the case and sentenced PTI founder Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to 10 years in prison.
Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were present in the court room when the sentence was handed down.
It should be noted that the statements of 25 witnesses against Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were recorded during the proceedings that continued till late night in the cipher case under hearing in the special court yesterday. The cross-examination of all 25 witnesses in the cipher case against the former prime minister and the former foreign minister has been completed.
