Karachi January 25 2024: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) reported reduction of 41 percent in Unaccounted for Gas losses in the period of last five years.
“Remarkable UFG (line losses) savings have been achieved particularly in FY 2020-21 and FY 2022-23. Company-wide UFG figures have been progressively reduced from ~77.7 BCF (FY 2018-19) to ~45.5 BCF i.e. a 32.2 BCF net reduction in UFG” states Sui Southern Gas Company.
UFG percentage in Karachi (contributing >65 percentage of total sales) is arrested in single-digit i.e. under 9 percentage (in comparison OGRA benchmark 6.7 percentage) since Ott’ 2022. Intense efforts are manifested by the fact that UFG has shown reduction trend even during the winter months.
After its institutionalization through directives from the Board of Directors, the dedicated UFG Division led by the Deputy Managing Director and Senior General Manager, has diligently spearheaded UFG reduction efforts.
