Islamabad October 2 2023: Pakistan trade deficit decreased 31.13 percent during the month of September to USD 1,489 million compared to the previous month, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
As per the latest data released, exports stood at USD 2,465 million while Imports were USD 3,954 million during September 2023.
The data showed that exports during September 2023 were 4.28 percent higher than exports of August 2023, and 1.15 percent higher compared to exports of September 2022.
The data showed that imports during September 2023 were 12.68 percent lower than imports of August 2023 and decreased by 25.36 percent compared to imports of September 2022.
Resultantly, trade deficit decreased by 31.13 percent during the month of September 2023 when compared with data of the corresponding month last year.
Moreover, trade deficit also decreased by 42.25 percent during the period from July to September 2023 to USD 5,289 million when compared with data of the corresponding period last year.
Exports during the period from July to September 2023 decreased by 3.78 percent to USD 6,899 million when compared with the same period last year while imports during the same period decreased by 25.36 percent to USD 12,188 million.
