Islamabad September 7 2023: Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) apprvoed increase in OMCs margin on MS & HSD by PKR 1.87/liter, according to the issued notification.
The increase will be done in four fortnightly installments of PKR 0.47/liter w.e.f 15th September, 2023.
Moreover, Petroleum dealers margins on MS & HSD was decided to be enhanced by Rs. 1.64/liter in four fortnightly installments of Rs. 0.41/liter w.e.f 15th September, 2023.
After the increase, the OMCs margin would now go up to PKR 7.87 per litre from the existing PKR 6, while petroleum dealers would get PKR 8.64 per litre compared to PKR 7 per liter at present. Cumulatively, the consumers would now have to bear the additional burden of PKR 3.51 per litre on both products.
Furthermore, after a detailed discussion, it was also decided by the ECC that in order to ensure efficiency and timeliness these margins shall be determined by OGRA on the basis of a systematic mechanism to be developed by OGRA after considering PSO’s operating cost for OMC and dealers.
