Lahore December 23 2022: A larger bench has been constituted to hear the petition filed by Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi against the order of the Governor of Punjab for removing him from the position of Chief Minister Punjab.
A five-member larger bench headed by Justice Abid Aziz Shaikh has been constituted. A larger bench will hold the hearing after some time.
It should be remembered that late last night Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman removed Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi from his post for failing to get a vote of confidence. Governor Punjab issued the order to remove Chief Minister Punjab from his post late at night through his Twitter account.
In the petition, the Lahore High Court has been requested to declare the Governor’s notification null and void.
