Islamabad September 2 2022: Pakistan trade deficit increased 28.89 percent during the month of August to USD 3,530 million, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
“Remittance were USD 2.7 billion during August 2022. Exports plus remittance still shy of imports. But we’ll get there” says Pakistan’s Finance Minister
As per the latest data released, exports stood at USD 2,504 million while Imports were USD 6,034 million during August 2022.
The data showed that exports during August 2022 were 11.07 percent higher than exports of July 2022 and 11.44 percent compared to exports of August 2021.
The data showed that imports during August 2022 were 20.84 percent higher than imports of July 2022 and decreased by 8.26 percent compared to imports of August 2021.
Moreover, trade deficit also increased by 28.89 percent during the month of August 2022 when compared with data of the previous month.
