Islamabad August 24 2022: The Election Commission dismissed the petition filed by six members of the National Assembly for the disqualification of Imran Khan in the Tosha Khana case.
In the Election Commission, a four-member bench headed by the Chief Election Commissioner heard the petition filed by the government members of the National Assembly for the disqualification of Imran Khan.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Barrister Gohar appeared before the Election Commission in the hearing of the Tosha Khana reference.
Imran Khan’s lawyer said in his arguments that the reference of the Speaker of the National Assembly and the request of these government members of the National Assembly are the same, so it should be dismissed.
He said that the request of the speaker of the National Assembly is already under hearing and the request of the government members on the Tosha Khana case has become ineffective.
The Election Commission rejected the petition filed by the members of the National Assembly for the disqualification of Chairman PTI on the arguments of Imran Khan’s lawyer.
While the hearing on the reference of the Speaker of the National Assembly in the Toshakhana case will be held on August 29.
