Karachi August 14 2022: As per the latest data shared by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), auto sales decreased by 58 percent month on month to 11,883 units during the first month of financial year 2023.
As compared to the same month last year, auto sales declined by 52 percent.
This monthly decline in volumetric sales is owed to the fact that consumers slowed down there purchases due to higher car prices and increase in rates for Auto financing.
Suzuki WagonR sales hit the most among Pak Suzuki variants by 87 percent month on month to 282 units from 2,134 units. While Bolan sales down by 71 percent month on month to 353 units in July 2022 from 1,216 units. Sales of Alto declined by 38 percent to 4,618 units compared to 7,487 units in June 2022. Overall sales of Pak Suzuki Motor decreased by 58 percent month on month to 6,679 units in July 2022.
Combined sales of Corolla and Yaris decreased by 61 percent month on month to 1,734 units during July 2022. Sales of Fortuner and Hilux also decreased by 65 percent month on month to 541 units. Overall sales of Indus Motor Company decreased by 62 percent month on month to 2,375 units.
Sales of Civic and City decreased the least by 30 percent month on month to 2,408 units when compared to the sales of June 2022. Honda sold 129 units of BRV during July 2022, which is down by 73 percent month on month. Overall sales of Honda Cars decreased by 35 percent month on month to 2,537 units.
Sales of Tucson decreased the most by 88 percent month on month to just 104 units among all variants sold in Pakistan when compared to the sales of June 2022. Hyundai sold 97 units of Porter during July 2022, which is down by 66 percent month on month. Overall sales of Hyundai decreased by 89 percent month on month to 201 units.
