Moscow June 2 2022: Pakistan may get wheat from Ukraine as Russia’s defence ministry said on Thursday that vessels carrying grain can leave Ukraine’s ports in the Black Sea via “humanitarian corridors” and Russia is ready to guarantee their safety, Interfax news agency said.
The defence ministry also said Russia would not use the humanitarian situation in Ukraine for the purposes of what Moscow calls its “special military operation” in Ukraine, Interfax added.
Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in its last meeting presided by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Mr. Miftah Ismail approved wheat import of 2 MMT on G2G basis while 1 MMT through international tendering process under the existing arrangement to meet the shortfall of this year.
