Islamabad April 30 2022: Despite rising petroleum product prices globally, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has kindly rejected the proposal for enhancement in the prices and desired that the prices of petroleum products from 1st May 2022 shall remain the same as notified on 1st March 2022 for providing maximum relief to the general public.
Government will bear the additional burden in the form of foregoing sales tax and Petroleum development levy collection; Moreover, government has to provide cash subsidy for keeping the prices unchanged for next fifteen days.
The new effective prices will be MS (Petrol) PKR 149.86, High Speed Diesel (HSD) PKR 144.15, Kerosene (SKO) PKR 122.56 and Light diesel Oil PKR 118.31 per litre.
