Dubai February 28 2023: The UAE has announced that the price of petrol will increase in March 2023, while diesel will fall.
The cost of filling up the tank in vehicles in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and across the UAE will increase next month for petrol users after the new prices were revealed. Meanwhile, those with diesel vehicles will rejoice at a price decrease.
UAE petrol prices in March 2023
With prices changing it will make motoring in the UAE just 1.3 percent more expensive than last month.
From March 1 the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE will be:
- Special 95 – AED3.09 litre from AED3.05 in February
- Super 98 – AED2.97 a litre from AED2.93 in February
- Diesel – AED3.14 a litre from AED3.38 in February
Petrol prices are affected by a global increase in crude oil prices, which have soared since the beginning of 2022. The ongoing Russia-Ukraine is one of the key reasons for the high cost of oil, and consequently petrol prices, as Russia is one of the world’s largest exporters of oil.
The peak price of filling up was seen in July of last year when diesel prices peaked at AED4.76 a litre. Prices have fallen considerably since then, but remain up on the lows of AED2.75 per litre in February 2022.
