Islamabad, March 02, 2022: Country’s trade deficit decreased to USD 3.095 billion for the month of February 2022 as per data published by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Imports during February 2022 decreased to USD 5.903 billion as compared to USD 6.041 billion in January 2022. This is a decrease of 2.2 percent.
Turning to exports, PBS shared that during February 2022, Flag of Pakistan Pakistan’s exports increased by 7.42 percent to USD 2.808 billion as compared to USD 2.614 billion in Jan 2022 mainly due to increase in commodity prices.

As a result, trade deficit recorded at USD 3.095 billion for the month of February which is down by 9.69 percent when compared with numbers of previous month.
During the first eight months of the current Fiscal Year (July 2021-January 2022), imports increased by 55.08 percent to USD 52.506 billion as compared to USD 23.858 billion during July 2020- Feb 2021.
During the first eight months of the current Fiscal Year (July 2021-February 2022), exports increased by 25.88 percent to USD 20.547 billion as compared to USD 16.323 billion during July 2020- Feb 2021.
