SSGC Demands Another 54% Increase in Gas Prices To Recover Shortfall

Islamabad March 3 2023: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has requested the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority to recover an amount of PKR 391.69 per MMBTU under SSGC's Estimated Revenue Requirement (ERR) Petition for FY 2023-24.

Government of Pakistan has agreed with IMF under the revised circular debt management plan that authorities will take measures to avoid any increase in circular debt from now onwards.

The estimated revenue requirement for FY 2023-24 has been worked at a shortfall of PKR 98,310 million or PKR 391.69 per MMBTU for indigenous gas business (including a subsidy of LPG Air mix amounting to PKR 2,807 million or PKR 11.19 per MMBTU) and a shortfall of PKR 15,076' million or PKR 32.62 per MMBTU for RLNG business which may be allowed in SSGC prescribed price effective 1st July 2023.

The instant Petition may further be amended based on the pending determinations & Final Revenue Requirement Petition I Determination for FY 2022-23 by OGRA.
