Karachi May 31, 2022: Pakistan rupee gains against the dollar for the third consecutive day to trade at 198.3 in the interbank as Pakistan increases petroleum prices to resume the IMF program.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday emphasized upon Pakistan the urgency of “removing fuel and energy subsidies” to achieve program objectives.
“Govt is committed to reviving the IMF program and put Pakistan back on a sustainable growth path,” says Finance Minister.
The Rupee gains nearly 0.4% or 77 paise to trade at 198.3 in the interbank.
The dollar gains 90 paisa in the open market and is trading at 199.6 at 14:00 PST.
Yesterday, Rupee closes at Rs199.06 in the interbank market.
