Karachi May 30 2022: Pakistan rupee gains against the dollar for the second consecutive day after falling for seventeen consecutive days to close the trading at 199.06 in the interbank as certainty of IMF program resumption increases after government increases petroleum prices.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday emphasised upon Pakistan the urgency of “removing fuel and energy subsidies” to achieve programme objectives.
“Govt is committed to reviving the IMF programme and put Pakistan back on a sustainable growth path” says Finance Minister.
The Rupee gains nearly 0.35% or 70 paisa to close the day at 199.06 in the interbank.
In the open market, the dollar gains 1.75 rupee and is trading at 200.25 at 17:00 PST.
Yesterday, Rupee closes at Rs199.76 in the interbank market.
