Karachi May 9 2025: Pakistan’s worker remittances to Pakistan rose significantly in April 2025, reaching USD 3.18 billion, marking a 13.1 percent year-on-year increase compared to USD 2.81 billion in April 2024.
This growth was driven primarily by higher inflows from the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The UK recorded the highest YoY growth of 32.7 percent, followed by the UAE at 21.2 percent, and the European Union countries at 38.3 percent.
Despite the YoY improvement, remittances fell 21.5 percent month-on-month, from USD 4.05 billion in March 2025, reflecting a typical post-Ramadan seasonal dip.
Over the first ten months of FY25 (July-April), total remittances reached USD 31.2 billion, showing a robust 30.9 percent increase compared to USD 23.85 billion in the same period of FY24. The top contributors over this period were Saudi Arabia (USD 7.6 billion, up 31.2 percent), UAE (USD 6.4 billion, up 51.1 percent), and the UK (USD 4.8 billion, up 34.2 percent). These three regions collectively accounted for 61 percent of total remittances during 10MFY25.
