Karachi September 18 2024: Pakistan’s Technology export remittances surged USD 298 million in August 2024, marking an impressive increase of 26.8 percent compared to USD 235 million in August 2023, according to data released by State Bank of Pakistan.
The share prices of technology sector stocks saw negative trend on Friday as overall KSE-100 index fall 1,722 or 2.1 percent.
Moreover, in comparison to the previous month of July 2024, ICT services export remittances have increased by USD 12 million, reflecting a 4 percent growth in August 2024.
The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, along with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) in close coordination with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has been instrumental in driving accelerated international business development and improving the ease of doing business environment.
During the current fiscal year, technology exports surged 30 percent from USD 449 million during July to August 2023 to USD 584 million during July to August 2024.
