Islamabad March 4 2025: Pakistan’s oil marketing companies (OMCs) oil volumes witnessed increase of 2 percent on year-over-year (YoY), with a total volume of 1.136 million tons in February 2025.
Prices of both Motor Spirit and High Speed Diesel are down approximately 6.2 percent and 5.7 percent year-over-year, according to data published by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
On month-over-month (MoM) sales were decreased, with a 18 percent decline compared to January 2025, where sales stood at 1.383 million tons.
In February 2024, High-speed diesel (HSD) experienced a 4 percent YoY decline, with sales decreasing to 0.43 million tons compared to 0.45 million tons in February 2024, and down by 29 percent MoM.
Whereas, motor gasoline (MOGAS) recorded an increase of 2 percent YoY, reaching 0.56 million tons in February 2024, from 0.54 million tons the previous year, however on MoM sales declined by 11 percent.
During the month fuel oil (FO) sales increased by 7% year-over-year (YoY) to 53 thousand tons, up from 50 thousand tons in the same month of 2024. Despite this annual incline, there was a month-over-month (MoM) decrease of 9 percent.
During the first eight months of FY2025, total petroleum sales amounted to 10.54 million tons, a slight 4% incline from 10.18 million tons in the same period last year.
In the first eight months of FY2025, fuel oil (FO) sales plummeted by 42 percent year-over-year (YoY), falling to 0.46 million tons compared to 0.79 million tons in the same period last year.
High-speed diesel (HSD) sales showed improvement, with an increase of 9 percent YoY to 4.49 million tons. Motor gasoline (MOGAS) sales were also improved by 4 percent YoY, increasing to 4.93 million tons.
